Many of the challenges facing residents of Machakos county are due to unfulfilled promises by elected leaders.
This was said by former Mwala member of parliament pastor Daniel Muoki who was speaking in Masii area, Mwala sub-county, Machakos county.
Muoki said these challenges are lack of jobs for educated youths, poor roads and water scarcity which are said to be major.
He urged elected leaders to ensure they fulfill the promises they made to the residents during campaigns failure to which they may lose their seats in the next general elections.
“The people don’t forget, they will wait as you come back seeking re-election in the next campaigns and send you home,” noted Muoki.
He noted that many elected leaders once elected disappear from the people who chose them and only come back during campaigns to promise residents heaven and earth and blindfolding them with a little money or last minute projects.
