Garissa Governor hopeful Ali Bunow Korane has criticized National Super Alliance (NASA) attack on Jubilee government over the high cost of living saying it is not helpful.
Korane says that NASA leaders need to support measures being put in place by the Jubilee government to lower down the cost of living instead of criticism.
In an interview with the Star, the governor hopeful claimed that NASA leaders are happy when Kenyans are struggling to feed themselves and their families.
He said that politicizing the high cost of basic commodities will not earn the opposition alliance votes.
“It is shameful when opposition leaders use the high cost of living as a campaign tool to woo for votes, it shows that they don’t care about what Kenyans are going through,” he said.
Korane said that NASA leaders cannot offer alternative leadership to the country.
“They (NASA) leaders are making noise on the high cost of living and when given chance to lead this country they will perform poorly,” he added
Korane urged Kenyans to ignore NASA’s ‘Unga’ politics saying that Jubilee government is doing everything to lower down the cost of living.
NASA leaders have been criticizing Jubilee government over the high cost of living. The opposition leaders claim that Jubilee government is not serious in lowering cost living and that it is only putting in place temporary measures for its own gain.
The government has lowered the cost of maize floor with a 2 kilogram packet now costing Sh90 up from Sh150.
The cheap ‘GOK’ floor has hit supermarket shelves with customer’s being restricted to only two packets.
The government says that the cheap ‘GOK’ floor will be in rural kiosks and shops by Sunday.
