The body of an unidentified middle-aged man was found by residents lying dead on the roadside in Gathage village, Gatundu South on Friday morning.
Confirming the incident, Gatundu South OCPD Bernard Muli said that the body could not be immediately identified but it looked like the man had been killed elsewhere and his body dumped in the area.
“At around 9.am Gathage residents reported to us that they had found a body of a man of approximately 30 years dressed in only a vest and underwear. Residents could not identify him", said Muli.
The OCPD said that the body was taken to City Mortuary in Nairobi for possible identification.
“We are hoping that the body will be identified and a postmortem carried out to know the cause of death,” he added.
Residents said that they are in fear as they do not know the motive of the killing and the body being dumped in the area.
“We don't understand why this body was dumped here because the man doesn't belong here,” Joseph Chege, a resident said.
The OCPD noted that the body had serious injuries on both hands and legs which could be a possible reason for his death though that could only be proven by postmorterm.
