The Kenya Building, Construction ,Timber Furniture Employees Union Nakuru branch leader Maurice Shisoka Shiundu has condemned an incident in which a Nakuru resident working for a China Road Construction Company was allegedly harassed.
Adressing media in Nakuru on Tuesday, Mr.Shisoka said despite coming to have a dialogue and address the issue with the parties involved, the contractor failed to cooperate with them concerning the matter prompting him to report the matter to the police station.
He says when he tried to question the matter, the contractor allegedly organized a group of Chinese workers who came up and beat him up.
“We will not allow foreigners and especially the Chinese to continue harassing Kenyans. We demand the Inspector General of police to tell us why the Chinese in this incident were released without bail,” said Shisoka.
“The Government should be clear on this and tell the public why the Chinese who harassed Nakuru employee was released, we don’t want cover ups as if they are diplomats yet they are not. We therefore demand that they be re-arrested and the legal process against them commences,” he added.
