This is set to beat the IEBC in releasing results, with the commission given up to seven days to announce the winner of any presidential elections.

The reports further indicate that Nasa’s flag bearer, Raila Odinga, is working with IT experts from Germany and Ghana, as they look for a formula to ensure a secure elections.

The system will include a mechanism to ensure votes are secured, and none is added or stolen.

"The system is intelligent enough to know how many voters are registered in each polling station and if there is any attempt to inflate the figures the system will reject (them)," one foreign expert who spoke to a local daily revealed.

The move by Nasa to set up a parallel tallying center had earlier met strong opposition from the ruling Jubilee Coalition, but they dropped the stance and resolved to setting up one of their own.

The IEBC had also opposed the plan by NASA, saying it will be a recipe for chaos. The commission however later accepted that it was okay for the alliance to set up such centre, provided they did not announce results and declare the winner.

On March 28, Raila said his team will deploy at least 10 agents to every polling station to ensure they have a secure election.

The agents will also be there to ensure there are no ghost voters, which has been a perennial issue in all elections.
