A section of Kiambu town residents have called on elected leaders in the county to have unity of purpose amongst themselves and to end their continued squabbles so as to ensure that projects that were initiated are completed on time.
The residents’ call comes in the wake of continued mounting pressure on the Kiambu County governor, William Kabogo to relocate the county headquarters from Thika town to Kiambu town.
Speaking in his office today, Kiambu Residents Association Chairman, Paul Gituku said that the continued row among the elected leaders in the county is the main cause of all stalled and delayed projects the county.
Gituku said so much time has been spent on political wrangles among leaders at the expense of delivering on their campaign pledges made hence derailing the county’s economic progress.
“If the trend of political bickering continues, then there will be nothing worthwhile for these elected leaders to show to the public as time will have caught up with them,” he said.
A member of the group, Steve Wainaina said that the prime objective of all elected leaders is to improve the living standards of its people by creating avenues where they can access business opportunities among other goodies.
Wainaina urged leaders to desist from tussles and begin reading from the same script for the sake of county’s development while serving the public in most satisfactory manner
