Kiambu leaders have been challenged to embrace unity in honour of the late Kabete MP George Muchai.
Addressing mourners yesterday who thronged Wangige market to pay their last respects to Muchai, Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi said that unity will act as a healer for the death of the Kabete MP.
The senator observed that there is no need for county leaders to engage in endless wrangles.
“W should unite and honour our fallen brother George Muchai,” said the senate lawmaker.
He added that it is time for Kiambu leaders to concentrate on key issues facing the people instead of wrangling.
The senator asked Governor William Kabogoo to bring together all leaders for the sake of peace and unity.
The senator said that Muchai was a peace loving person and had dedicated his time to unite Kiambu leaders.
“Muchai had planned to bring all Kiambu leaders together for the sake of development,” said the senator.
Wamatangi urged Kabete people to remain peaceful as the government finalises on investigations to establish and take action against Muchai's murders.
The late MP has been buried today at his Ruai home in Kiambu with top government officials, led by Deputy President William Ruto attending.
Muchai was shot dead by a masked gunman on Saturday last week along Uhuru Highway in Nairobi.
Investigations into the death are said to be in top gear with several suspects expected to appear in court today.
