ODM Youth Rep in Kisii County Erick Janganya has called on Governor James Ongwae to unite all political leaders in the region for the sake of development.
In an interview today in his Kisii office, Janganya said Members of parliament and their county assembly counterparts do not see eye to eye thereby hindering development adding the situation can only be addressed if the governor brings everybody on board.
He, however, steered clear of blaming Ongwae for the current disharmony among leaders from the region but was quick to point out that the governor has failed to duly involve all the leaders in the region on development issues.
He cited the recent ‘Entrepreneur summit’ event where only a few members of the county and national assembly were invited while other key figures from the region were left out.
“Entrepreneurs summit is a very important event for every leader in the region; we cannot afford to have a few attending while others do not even know of the event,” he added.
The ODM official said his committees will continuously audit the county government in line with the party manifesto to ensure that electorates benefit from devolution.
He also appealed to members of the public to be hawk-eyed on developments taking place in the region and to also participate in development matters in order to rip maximum benefits from devolution.
