Speaking at a political rally at Tononoka grounds on Saturday, the Cord co-principal said that only cooperation between the two would ensure that Joho from ODM does not see the seat again.

Musyoka argued that his Wiper candidates stood a better chance of bettering Mombasa because they were what he referred to as visionary and with clout in the voters.

Despite having bad blood between them in the past, Omar and Awiti have of late been seen to be reading from the same script and speaking good of each other with the central aim of unseating Joho.

Awiti echoed his party leader’s sentiments, saying they were doing nothing but to ensure that the county and its government return to the fold of traders and social democracy.

“We shall be focusing on how we will take over the county and return it to the hands of traders. We shall work tirelessly to bring change,” he said.

Musyoka was in the company of other Wiper leaders including Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr (Makueni), Nairobi Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke, Machokos Deputy Governor Bernard Kialai, Kibwezi PM Jessica Mbalu among others
