The NASA boat might capsize sooner than anticipated if the calls by some Luhya legislators for unity against RaiLonzo is anything to go by.

The leaders believe that if Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi unite with FORD-Kenya chief Moses Wetangula then the chances of having a Luhya candidate are higher.

Speaking in Vihiga at Kagoye village during the last ceremony of the first and exceptional Education Minister Joseph Otiende, the politicians made statements that will definitely weaken NASA. Funyula’s Paul Otwoma, Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa and Alfred Agoi of Sabatia are the Western politicians pushing for this unity."The Luhya is the largest community in Kenya but it is not in government. We have two principals in Nasa. This is already 50 per cent. What do we do to make it (50 per cent) as one ticket for us to up our bargaining in Nasa?" quizzed Otwoma as quoted by the Daily Nation. He was backed by ANC’s Agoi who said either of the two principals can beat Jubilee if supported by NASA.Agoi said, "Wetang'ula and Mudavadi are here with us today. They should agree on one of them because this will raise our bargaining power in the ongoing Nasa consultations for the presidential ticket. What we all want is to send Jubilee packing.”Mr Wamalwa also voiced FORD Kenya’s desire to have a single candidate."We are going to be behind you (Wetang'ula and Mudavadi) to ensure that a Luhya is given the presidency,” Wamalwa said.
