Elected leaders in Nakuru County must embrace one another and work as a team for the county to realise development, politician Dr Stanley Karanja has said.
Karanja said harmony among leaders is lacking and it is a the reason for the slow development being realised.
He said all elected leaders; members of Parliament and county assemblies and the governor must work hand in hand for the county to grow.
“What is ailing Nakuru is lack of unity among leaders and it was evident when somebody used youths to heckle the governor (Kinuthia MBugua) in front of President Uhuru KEnyatta and if that goes on, we will have very little to be proud of in terms of development,” he said Tuesday during an interview on Inooro TV.
He proposed to have a common forum bringing together MPs, MCAs and the governor and formulate a financial plan which they will all support through the different government funding government funding programmes each of them has to achieve a common goal.
“My proposal is that all these leaders should come together and formulate a plan whereby they will come up with projects that should be developed and they consolidate their funds and do it as a team. This way, we will achieve more than when we do it the way we are doing it today,” he said.
Karanja, however, blamed political superiority in the county to the many wrangles leaders have had and asked them to foster a harmonious relationship.
