Is there a story unfolding in your community? Let Hivisasa know

The Garissa girl-child has nothing to smile about. Girls in this county have been victims of rape and female genital mutilations among other vices that have barred them from living their dreams.

It is not only the responsibility of the government, teachers and parents to ensure that the girl-child goes to school but also the entire community.

It is said that educating a girl-child is like education the entire community. For those eyeing different positions in the next general polls, it is our greatest desire that you will fight to emancipate the girls of this county from slavery.

It is said to note that some teachers, leaders and even parents have stood in the way of justice when it comes to rape related cases. Do not let your child live with the stigma of rape after being given a few notes.

It is upon each one of use to ensure that those accused of rape are arraigned in court and charged accordingly.

This county is not going to be a better place if we let such criminals to walk away scot-free. Whether the rapist is your relative, friend or neighbour, justice must prevail if at all we care about the future of the girl child in this part of the nation.

We call upon parents to make more sacrifices on behalf of their children so that they can secure better jobs in the competitive job market in the years to come.
