She noted that some universities don't give students transcripts for four years of their academic study.

"University Management should ensure that students get their transcripts at the end of every academic year. How can one gauge himself without results?" she asked.

Speaking during University of Eldoret's 4th graduation ceremony on Friday where 3036 students graduated, Prof Suda said the Ministry will conduct a comprehensive audit of all universities in the county and those found denying students marks will face the law.

"As a ministry we have been focusing on Primary and Secondary education now we are moving to universities. We want to bring sanity and streamline our higher education institution which are rotten," she added.

She called upon universities to come up with programmes that are relevant to the job market.

"Students should be taught courses that will help them improve their livelihoods and not ones that will make them tarmac looking for jobs for ages," she reiterated.

She warned vice chancellors against misappropriating funds, saying they will be arrested and charged if found culpable.

University of Eldoret Vice Chancellor Prof Teresa Akenga urged students to be innovative and be job creators.

"It's time students used the knowledge received in class to create employment opportunities instead of seeking for white collar jobs which are scarce," she said.
