The polls will not affect the curriculum of universities as the institutions are now taking measures to recover time that was lost during the voting period.
This is according to the Commission for University Education (CUE).
Education CS Fred Matiang'i on Monday said that they had written to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) requesting that the election be conducted before October 17 so as not to interfere with the school and national examinations calendar.
“Universities will continue ensuring that the contact hours provided in their curriculum for students to learn and earn their degrees will be maintained and challenges regarding quality should not worry as far as universities are concerned,” said CUE chairman Chacha Nyaigotti.
He was speaking on Tuesday in Nairobi during the official change of guard at the commission.
CUE ushered in Prof Mwenda Ntarangwi as their new secretary after being appointed by Education CS Fred Matiang'i.
