In a bid to block unqualified political aspirants from seeking university degrees ahead of the 2017 polls Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiangi has warned universities against admitting the said group.
Speaking on Friday during the 35th graduation ceremony at the Pan Africa Christian University Matiangi warned the institutions against admitting individuals who have not attained requisite admission criteria .
"Kindly note that all students admitted into your programmes must meet the minimum admission requirements and contact hours for teaching.I am aware the political season is here with us again and politicians are running to our institutions to obtain degrees in the shortest time possible," he said.
He added that the government will not allow the dilution of higher education and directed the Commission for University Education to ensure that universities adhere to the set admission guidelines.
