Assuming it is one of those innocent merry xmas ones, your volume is on high and the sounds coming from it shock you to an extent that you can't stop playing it.

Well, alarming videos that should have every parent with a teenage child very concerned are doing rounds on various social media platforms and they have been in circulation for about a month now. They are explicit and contain highly rated adult content produced by our children at the university.

They are from students recognised by their colleagues from one of the popular public universities in Kenya.

Kenyans on the site 'Telegram' have been freely sharing and viewing the pornographic material under the channel 'mafisi'.

They are said to be shot locally and star, among others, well-known local university girls.

A source close to the writer said that she watched the video after being alerted that her campus roommate was in an adult film.

"I watched for curiosity’s sake, just to be sure that it was her. I could hardly believe what I saw, my roommate of three years was the star in the film," she said.

The source added that her roommate was a well-adjusted person, intelligent and from a good family. She, therefore, could not understand why she got into the industry.

"Her sister was a medical doctor, the other a lawyer and her twin was also in campus. I knew her mother too and I am certain they would be shocked to know what she's doing," she said.

These current developments ought to have parents very concerned. The holiday season is a haven for breeding all sorts of bad behaviour. Young impressionable girls might fall prey to sex-pests, with allures of money and possible fame.

The celebrity culture that is glorified in the media could also sway even the best-behaved teenager. Socialites seem to achieve so much more by engaging in questionable behaviour.

Parents ought to be keen and keep their young ones occupied and under supervision throughout the holiday season.
