The students started reporting last week and have been admitted to the four colleges of the university; from the colleges of Architecture and Engineering, Biological and Physical Science, Health Sciences and that of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences.

Other students for the school of Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Education and External Studies will be reporting in January, 2017.

Speaking during the orientation of the first-year students, Vice Chancellor Peter Mbithi urged them to maintain high standards of discipline and make choices wisely as they focus on their education.

"For most students, university is the first real experience of freedom; freedom of intellect, freedom of expression and all other freedoms. I urge you to exercise these freedoms responsibly," said Mbithi.
