The University of Nairobi has denied claims that one student succumbed to injuries he sustained after being clobbered by police.
Police last Thursday descended on students in the institution following protests that erupted after the arrest of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.
“Contrary to the fake news that is circulating on social media platforms, no student or lecturer has lost his life,” the University said on Twitter.
UoN made the clarification following social media claims that one student had died after being beaten by police.
Police are currently on the spotlight after videos made rounds on Facebook and Twitter showing police beating the students.
Some of them were frog matched from their classrooms and hostels.
