The University of Nairobi (UoN) has been voted among the 100 top universities in the world.

The university was ranked 51 out of the top 100 universities in the world, something that has put Kenya on the global map.

Students of the university took on Facebook to boast of the achievement.

Allan Mwaleh said, ‘‘I do not regret being in the top performing and top developed universities in the world. UoN is the best place to be after high school.’’

Richard Richie said he is happy that his university has been shining and will continue shining globally.

‘‘The best thing to think of is to join the University degree, masters or PHD of your own choice,’’ he said.

Jacqueline, who is a Ugandan student, said she is happy that she came to UON but said her home university Makerere beat the university coming 50 then UON came 51. She, however, said competition is better in life than anything else.

Laura Wamboi said, ‘‘hard work pays. I will also work hard to be known globally as my university.51/100 top universities globally, Nairobi University shines. Other Universities should follow our lead.
