A university student has been severely attacked for being a NASA supporter.
The Kibabii University learner was roughed up and beaten by unknown people after allegedly showing his strong support for NASA.
Zechariah Mulati was left with deep panga cuts to his hands and head after the Saturday morning attack that occurred at 4am.
The fourth year student who comes from Sirisia constituency was in the house with his fiancee in an area a few meters from the campus.
Alice Wasike, a neighbour, said she heard screams and witnessed some five men attacking the student with the crude weapons as she peeped through her window.
According to her, the attackers fled without talking anything from the student's house.
Student leader Kelvince Fwamba has responded and said the assailants were well-known.
He has given Bungoma county commissioner Joshua Chepchieng the ultimatum of 48 hours before arresting the criminals.
"We also warn politicians who park big vehicles outside the university in the evening to keep off this place."
