Confirming the incident from his office on Monday, Kikuyu OCPD Mutune Maweu said that the three were arrested at a cyber cafe in Kikuyu Town where they had gone to meet four KCSE candidates.

He added that the cyber cafe owner alerted the police and the three were arrested in action selling the alleged leaked papers. The police boss said that the criminal act was not a new case in the country as university students lured students and collected a lot of money from selling such papers.

Maweu said that students are easily conned when they are awaiting their exams which should be a caution to all. He mentioned that the four candidates were paying Sh5,000 for one exam paper.

He revealed that the university students had taken advantage of the teachers' strike and the panic among students, especially those in public schools, to lure them.

Maweu said that some parents have in the past been involved by giving money to their children to pay for such.

"I send a warning to all residents and university students who have been very notorious in engaging in this crime that anyone arrested will face the law," said Maweu.

He said that the three culprits are being held at Kikuyu Police Station as investigations continue.
