Kisii university chancellor Prof Godfrey Muriuki has urged university students to ensure professionalism thrives and be role models to the younger generation.

Speaking on Friday during a meeting with students at Kisii University's Down Town campus, the chancellor insisted that University students ought to do their best in their studies so as to inspire others.

"I expect you to be role models. My challenge to you is that you must ensure you do the best in your class work so as to achieve your vision. I expect you to be role models," he said.

This was the first time the chancellor was addressing students at the Down Town Campus since the university was awarded a charter in 2013.

One student marvelled, "We have never seen this before in this campus. Let him continue visiting us."

The chancellor was on a three-day visit of the institution which ended on Friday.
