Unknown people on Thursday night broke into government offices in Thika West sub county and stole computers.
According to Thika West Deputy County Commissioner Tom Anjere, the unknown people stole 20 computers despite the heavy security presence at the premise.
At least five Administration Police officers get deployed at the premises every night, he said, wondering how the thugs comfortably broke doors at the Labour department and stole the computers.
An official at the department Regina Kiilu said they arrived at the premise on Friday morning for work but were shocked to find doors to the offices open.
She said there is a likelihood that the incident was a conspiracy with workers at the sub county officers.
"There are five police officers here every night. Where were they when all this happened? Someone could be knowing what exactly happened," she said.
Anjere said investigations have been launched into the incident promising that those involved will be arrested and prosecuted.
He, however, declined to reveal the information the government has lost as a result of the loss of the computers.
"Give us time, investigations are have commenced and my promise is one, those involved will be arrested and brought to book," Anjere said.
