Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) has been staging anti-IEBC demonstrations in the country over what it has terms as corruption, lack of integrity and inefficiency at the IEBC.
Cord leaders Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka have however, vowed to go on with the demonstration until dialogue is given a chance by the government.
Calls from the government and other stakeholders for Cord to stop the demonstrations have fallen on deaf ears as Cord holds its ground on the stalemate.
However, the demonstrations have not been peaceful of late.
For the last two demonstrations, lives have been lost in Kisumu and Siaya.
On May 23, one life was lost in Kisumu county while three were lost in Siaya county with numerous injuries recorded.
On Monday June 6, one life was again lost in Kisumu while 15 others sustained injuries.
The last two anti-IEBC demonstrations have left families mourning the death of their loved ones.
Families have been left with difficult moments to comprehend with due to their losses.
The casualties countrywide have also had to deal with painful moments from their wounds.
The Cord team led by Mr Odinga and his co-principals Mr Wetangula and Mr Musyoka should stop the weekly demonstrations and stop the deaths and injuries from occurring.
