The current Tanzanian President, Dr John Pombe Magufuli, has transformed and streamlined critical issues in Tanzania.
The 'bulldozer' as he is known by his people, has relentlessly fought corruption and misuse of public resources for the gain of a few individuals. Good examples include the banning of overseas travel for civil servants.
He also banned Independence Day celebrations and slashed the budget for a state banquet to mark the opening of Parliament.
He also fired the Board of the country's biggest hospital when he found patients sleeping on the floor.
For Kenya, the case is different.
The country is plagued with corruption and greed for taxpayers' money by a small group of powerful politicians.
Situations in hospitals are still wanting and civil servants continue to make overseas flights on issues of irrelevance to the common citizen.
Ethnicity continues to define the type of politics in the country and leaders remain the main instigators of this problem.
An 'injection' of Dr Magufuli's principles in the country may help take this country to the right course.
If the strict Tanzanian President took over the mantle of the leadership in this country, even for just a week, then the next general elections may be nearer than they should be as many leaders will call it quits.
Situations in our ministries and hospitals may also take shape and Eurobond and National Youth Service scandals can be things of the past.
For Kenya to prosper, people like Dr Magufuli should be injected into the system and save the situation the country is already plunged in.
