Water companies selling packed water in Kisii without permission have been put on notice.
Eritus Kabari, an environment officer on Friday said traders selling bottled water should have legal permits before they sell water in town.
“Following the contamination of most water sources in Kisii, we will conduct a crackdown arrest traders selling packed water in bottles from companies which have not been permitted to sell in town because such companies may be selling contaminated water in bottles,” he said.
He called on residents buying bottled water to inspect carefully before they drink.
“Residents are advised to inspect water in bottles by shaking well to see if there could be small particles in water and report such traders selling dirty water to authorities,” he added.
