Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Ngeno has said people who are not married should not contest for elective seats.
Speaking in Amalo ward, Kuresoi South where he had accompanied Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot in campaigns, the controversial MP said that it is a taboo in Kalenjin community to elect unmarried person.
"Those who seeks to be elected should first get married. Family ties is the first sign of quality leadership. Do not elect people who are not married," he said.
The MP married two weeks ago after he received pressure from the public and his family.
