The woman who was posing as a patient at KNH on Sunday is suspected to have stolen an infant; Prince Ouko.

Hivisasa has exclusively learnt that Mr Job Ouko had accompanied his ailing wife; Jane to the hospital and was kept waiting for over nine hours before she could see a doctor.

Ms Jane had two weeks ago been discharged from the facility after she gave birth to twins.

All this time, Mr Ouko kept struggling to feed Prince and his twin brother Brighton as their mother languished in pain and even at times falling asleep on the hospital's chairs.

"I don't know why they kept us for that long but all they could tell us was that we wait because the ward my wife was supposed to be admited to was dirty," he told Hivisasa.

Mr Ouko cannot hide his tears as he narrates how he was torn between giving his wife a shoulder to cry on and taking care of the babies.

"One minute I was trying to keep an eye on the twins, the other minute I was trying to comfort my wailing wife," narrates Mr Ouko.

All this time, two women seated together watched as he struggled with his wife and kids

However, a nurse resurfaced and askes him to get a wheelcart used to carry patients and take his wife to the wards.

Mr Ouko, carrying the two infants left his wife sleeping on the chairs and went in search of a wheel chair.

Minutes later, he came back with a wheelcart and helped his wife get on it before he started pushing it towards the ward.

"I struggled between ensuring that the babies dont fall and pushing the wheelchair as I headed to the wards," narrates Mr Ouko.

On reaching the main entrance that leads to the wards, a watchman who was on duty on that day told him that babies were not allowed beyond that point.

"I had to put my wife waiting rushed back to the two women I had left at the patients waiting area and requested them to take care of the infants," he said.

To him that was the only solution he had.

Asked why he trusted women he has never seen in his life to take care of his babies, Mr Ouko said that the women were speaking in the Kisii language which is his tribe.

"They accepted to help me carry the babies and I rushed back to take my wife to the wards," he said.

No sooner had he kicked off the journey to the wards than one of the women who is now in police custody caught up with him and told him the sad news.

"The other woman has dissapeared with the other baby," that is what Mr Ouko was told and he could not believe it.

He rushed to where the woman was seated and I confirmed she was not there.

He then went straight to the main entrance and the watchmen their told him that no woman had left the hospital carrying a baby.

Mr Ouko then reported the matter to the hospital's administration and he was promised that they would help him review the CCTV footage.

However, Mr Ouko has to be patient enough until the hospital gets the footage details from England.

The hospital on Monday morning gave a statement admitting that the infant was missing and they had reported to the police.

Mr Ouko now asks anyone who has information that can help him get his son Prince to report to the nearest police station.
