Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has demanded respect for the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka over the controversial oath he snubbed on Tuesday.

Kibwana who doubles as the Wiper Party chairman revealed reasons why Kalonzo never attended the inauguration at Uhuru Park in Nairobi.

He said there were issues in NASA which needed to be solved before swearing in the coalition's Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga and his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka.

“There are wrinkles in NASA that need to be ironed first especially the distribution of leadership posts in Parliament and NASA’s technical team, we need respect,” Kibwana said. in an interview with Citizen TV.

Kibwana spoke during an interview on a local TV on Thursday morning.

He said there were issues  which the opposition coalition needed to outline before the leaders were sworn in.

“NASA leaders were still deliberating on the oath wording and how it would be administered but they were unable to meet to resolve the issue for  fear of being nabbed,” Kibwana said.

Kibwana said the failure by NASA principals to meet in a retreat and ‘iron-out’ several issues caused jitters within the coalition ahead of the inauguration.

He said Kalonzo is a good leader who wants what is best for the country.

“There was a time we had asked for a NASA retreat because there were many unsettled issues, Kalonzo is a good leader who wants the very best for the Kenyan people and the Kamba community. This is not the first time he is facing abuse from partners and rivals alike,” Kibwana said.
