The Kenyan government through Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is constructing a Standard Gauge Railwy's Port Relief Line.
As the key project, the Mombasa Cross-sea Railway Bridge is located in the Mombasa port area, the main line of which is 2.726 kilometers long.
"Kenya SGR Port Relief Line will play the role of extension line and auxiliary project of the SGR Phase 1," said China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) in an update on Friday.
After the completion, the Port Relief Line will link the bulk cargo terminal of the main island and the container terminal of Mombasa Port.
It is integrated into the SGR Phase 1 to achieve sea-rail transport and to release the goods discharge pressure.
"The last T-beam is due to be erected on Sunday 3rd June 2018."
