Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has found himself at the receiving end of public anger during his routine visits to the county, drumming support for the re-election of Jubilee government for another five-year term.
Over the weekend, the Majority leader made a stop over at the Balambala constituency to inspect development projects, but the visit took a different twist after he issued that the project had been funded by the national government, even as Balambala MP Abdikadir Aden publicly declared that the project was being funded by the Constituency Development Fund that is under his administrative capacity.
Locals allied to the Balambala MP criticized Duale for politicizing projects to make public relation statements for the Jubilee government, saying the region had been largely neglected by the current regime.
The incident has further heightened political animosity with Abdikadir Aden, who has already declared interest in defending his current post.
Over the past few months, political rivalry has been steadily growing between the incumbent Balambala MP and Aden Duale, a fact that has been attributed to an endorsement where a section of Abduwak clan endorsed the latter for the Balambala legislative space.
