Kenyans have been called to support a campaign that targets at raising funds for building modern wheelchairs in support of people living with disabilities.
The campaign envisages at raising 30,000 pounds to finance the development of SafariSeats at local workshops.
There are approximately 1.8 million Kenyans living with disabilities and majority of them need aid, data from the Kenya Bureau of Statistics shows.
"We've designed a revolutionary wheelchair for people in developing countries," the campaign leader in a video shared on kickstarter.com says.
"Safariseat gives people independence, unlocking access to education, employment and a life beyond the confines of their own home."
"We’ve put all our resources into getting this far - now we need your support to develop the open source toolkit and begin to manufacture with local workshops in Kenya to make as many SafariSeats as possible. Join us, and help people discover independence."
The campaign aims at helping people living with disabilities in developing countries.
