The united Republican Party (URP) and the National alliance party (TNA) in Nakuru have moved into one office at the Milimani, following the formation of the Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP).
The two parties will now operate from the office, which initially belonged to TNA, as they await the full merge of the two parties ahead of 2017.
TNA Nakuru branch chairman Samuel Githaiga said that there was no reason for them to operate from separate offices, since they are one party.
Speaking Wednesday afternoon at the party offices, which have since been rebranded to JAP at Milimani estate, Githaiga said that officials of both URP and TNA will act as interim officials, before JAP holds its first elections to elect officials.
“We are now JAP, the story of URP and TNA is now gone and that is why we have decided to move into one office because it will be easier to manage party issues from one central point. From now on we will be running JAP affairs and not URP or TNA affairs,” said Githaiga.
URP NAKURU branch chairman Joseph Bett said that they are one entity, which should operate under one roof and called on all party members in the county to active in selling the party out.
“JAP is like a new car model which has just entered the market and we must go out there and market it if we want it to take the market by storm and we call upon all JAP members and followers to be good party ambassadors out there,” said Bett.
