The screening exercise will be conducted on 27th and 28th of this month in various health facilities in the county, according to the governor.

Ranguma said doctors will be stationed at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral hospital – commonly known as Russia – Gita health centre in Kajulu, Kibos Prison and the Migosi health centre.

The county boss urged women to come out in large numbers and get screened for early identification of cancer insisting, “This is an opportunity we should not let go. It is an opportunity for you to get tested and corrective action will be taken as soon as possible.”

Speaking while leading Mashujaa Day celebrations at the Jomo Kenya stadium in Kisumu, Ranguma said the county government has rolled out various health projects in the county, aimed at improving the residents’ health in general.

“Good health and good life is also our slogan,” he said.

He said they have constructed health facilities in most wards of the county, in order to bring health services closer to the people.
