[Photo| Nation]The United States Embassy spokesperson Fiona Evans has dismissed reports that ambassador Robert Godec has been recalled from Kenya.Speaking during an interview with the Star on Wednesday, Evans noted that Godec was not exiting Kenya anytime soon."Godec's term did not end in July. He has been the US ambassador to Kenya since January 2013 and remains ambassador today," Said Evans as quoted by the daily. Earlier reports had indicated that the ambassador's term ends in July this year but was extended due to the elections. The spokesperson, however, did not reveal when Godec might stop discharging his duties in Kenya. "Ambassador Godec, like all US ambassadors, serves at the pleasure of the President of the United States. No one has been proposed to replace him as ambassador," she said. Godec was nominated by former President Barrack Obama in 2012, as Kenya's Ambassador.
