US Ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec has asked Kenyans to join hands and help fight against corruption that has reached new levels in the country.
Godec appealed to all investigative agencies in the country to speed up the investigation processes.
He added that the corruption pandemic is hurting Kenya's economy and future.
His plea comes at a time when the country is embroiled in yet another corruption scandal on the alleged loss of Sh5.3 billion in the Ministry of Health.
According to Godec, the Afya House saga should be investigated immediately and with the seriousness it deserves and people involved held accountable.
Speaking when he visited Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma, Godec said the fight against corruption in the country calls for joint efforts and asked Kenyans to join hand together.
"There is need for stronger accountability systems so that there is possibility of tracking corrupt deals at the same time sealing the loopholes used in corruption," Godec said.
The diplomat further asked the country to conduct free, credible and fair elections next year saying that Kenya is US's preferred investment destination.
