[Photo|twitter.com]The government of the United States has sent a message to Kenya's opposition leader Raila Odinga over his plans to swear himself in as president on December 12.Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the US government’s Bureau of African Affairs, Donald Yamamoto has called on the NASA leader to call off his planned swearing-in which has continued to raise tension in the country.Yamamoto warned that the move would polarise and divided country even further.He met Odinga alongside his co-principals Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetang’ula alongside Wiper Acting chairman Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana who represented Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday.Daily Nation said the meeting took place at the US Ambassador Robert Godec’s residence.During the meeting, Yamamoto warned of dire consequences for the country's top leadership who will fail to engage in consultative dialogue with aims to unite the country.Odinga had maintained that he would be sworn-in and nothing would stop him, since he does not recognise President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration as legitimate.
