According to the intelligence, the country will face political instability as it seeks to address the various grievances raised during the post-election period.

The prediction was published in a report In a report dubbed Worldwide Threat Assessment of the Intelligence Community.

The agency also warned that Ethiopia might face similar problems.

“The Ethiopian and Kenyan Governments are likely to face opposition from publics agitating for redress of political grievances,” part of the report read.

The report was presented to the United States Congress by the US Director ofNational Intelligence Daniel Coats.

"We are deeply concerned by recent political developments in Kenya. Both the government and the opposition have taken steps that have undermined Kenya's institutions, and driven wedges among its citizen," Coats said.

This warning comes at a time when the foreign envoys in Kenya are pushing for dialogue between NASA leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
