United States of America has offered to aid the nation in it's war against hate speech.

Speaking in a press briefing at the Bomas of Kenya Monday,US envoy to Kenya Robert Godec said that his government is ready to work in conjunction with her Kenyan counterpart to suppress the trend as the October 26 presidential elections near.

He also said that America is keen on ensuring that the elections are peaceful and orderly.

''The United States is keenly and closely watching the unfolding in Kenya with regards to harmful utterances and should need be,we will come in an hold culpable individuals responsible under the American law,'' said Godec.

He however called upon the Kenyan government under the National Integration and Cohesion Commission to improve its surveillance.

''The US government want to urge the Kenyan government to pay closer attention to hate speech.Anyone engaging in hate speech or any other destructive comment that may threaten the nation's peace ahead of the coming elections must be dealt with in accordance with the law,'' he said.
