A section of Kenyans living in the United States have endorsed Raila Odinga's planned swearing in by terming it 'necessary and long overdue'.

With details about Tuesday's event remaining scanty, NASA secretariat chair Noah Akala says the venue shall be unveiled on Sunday.

"So far we have received 13 requests from counties across the country. We shall convene on Sunday to make a decision," he said.

And the team under the leadership of activist Lister Nyaringo representing Kenyans in the diaspora has welcomed the move adding that Odinga won fairly in August.

Further, they have threatened to sue police our 'unwarranted brutality targeting people perceived to be NASA supporters.

"Raila's swearing in is necessary and long overdue. We fully endorse it as US residents. He won August elections and the whole world saw that.

"As civil activist, we may move to ICC to sue police over the unnecessary shooting of innocent protesters. The Tuesday's ceremony has our full blessings," he wrote on his official Facebook account.

A defiant Odinga on Thursday accused the US of backing Uhuru Kenyatta's regime at the expense of many Kenyans fighting for electoral reforms.
