A section of Nakuru residents has criticized the US government for interfering with Kenya's internal affairs.
The residents say the superpower has contravened the international affairs by involving itself in the country's internal affairs.
“Kenya is a sovereign state and its internal affairs should be respected. They should not be dictated by external affairs,” said Njoroge Mungai, a newspaper vendor in Nakuru.
Julius Kitur, a cloth vendor in Nakuru Town said that US interference in Kenya's administration is lack of respect.
“I think the US should respect other countries sovereignties. The US should not be ‘askari wa dunia’.” said Kitur.
A few days ago, the government came under fire from Washington for passing the controversial Security Bill’ which allegedly limits freedom of assembly and media.
The US, through Jen Psaki, the spokesman of the US State of Department, alleged that 'very limited time was accorded to the opposition and public to debate the controversial bill'.
The residents were speaking on Monday at Nakuru Town in an interview with this writer over their views over US criticism to jubilee administration.
The move by the US, according to the residents may provoke the fragile relations between the two states.
