[Photo|KCGPU]Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyongo held a meeting with a delegation from USAID who paid him a courtesy call at his office on Friday. The team is in the county to introduce a new line of support programme known as "Afya Halisi". The programme aims at supporting health care training and capacity building of health care personnel as well as improving health facilities infrastrure. They also apparaised the governor of the programmes they are implemeting in the county through different partners.On his part, the governor stressed the need to link healthcare delivery with other social care support such as water, sanitation access roads and social support (insurance)."There is need to synergise with partners to drive the agenda of access to affordable and quality healthcare forward while ensuring complementarity is resource allocation," said Nyong'o.The USAID mission was headed by Randolph Augustine - Chief of Health, Population and Nutrition.
