Residents in Kisii county have been advised to use mosquito nets and clean water as one a way of protecting themselves from diseases.
Speaking at Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital on Monday, during the flagging of medical drugs, Governor James ongwae advised residents to make use of mosquito nets as one way of protecting themselves from Malaria.
“The county through the ministry of health has distributed mosquito nets too all residents my advice is that let us make use of them all the time,” said Ongwae.
In addition, he said that it will be more important for the residents to use the mosquito nets during the rainy season when the threat of mosquitoes increases.
“We are expecting some rain in our region, hence, we advice our residents to use mosquito nets during the rainy season as we don’t want to record high Malaria cases since we have the nets in our homes,” added Ongwae.
He also advised residents to make use of clean water in their homes as one way of preventing themselves from waterborne diseases.
“There are many diseases which comes as a a result of water so let us use clean water as one way of overcoming such diseases," he advised.
