Kisumu County Assembly members who recently went for a bonding session in Arusha, Tanzania have been urged to use their resources to mobilize voters to register.
South West Kisumu ward representative Joseph Abiola on Monday called upon his colleagues to come out and help in getting people out to register as voters.
Abiola said MCAs are now earning under the new devolution that was brought by ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
“MCAs are earning good money, they must now invest in voter registration,” he said.
He said that MCAs should now ensure that they use their resources at their disposals to ensure Raila gets enough votes to propel him to State House.
Speaking to the press in his ward during a door to door campaign to get people to register as voters, Abiola said the duration for voter registration is very short and must be properly utilized.
He said it is time for leaders to join hands and push for voter registration in their areas.
“Leaders must forget about the positions they are yearning for and put up a spirited effort to ensure Raila gets the required votes to take him to Sstate house,” he said.
Abiola said that he is determined and optimistic that his ward will emerge victorious with high-number of new voters in the county of Kisumu.
