Ushuru FC head coach Ken Kenyatta has acknowledged that his team is still not yet running on all cylinders, despite beginning the second half of the season with a win.
Ushuru went top of the National Super League (NSL) standings with a 2-0 win over Administration Police on Saturday 16 June at the Thika Sub-county Stadium.
Goals from Benson Amianda and Nelson Marasowe secured the win that lifts Ushuru past Western Stima and into first place with 38 points.
After a poor start to the season, Ushuru have now moved top of the standings for the first time in the campaign and after the game, Kenyatta praised his team's fighting spirit towards this.
He said, "We didn't start the season on a high note, but we have worked bit by bit to where we are at the moment. It has all been down to the players who have given their all."We are still not to our very best but we will get there because competition in this league, is at a very high level and to remain at the top you need to perform."
