United States International University Africa (USIU) has announced that they will be closing the university ahead of next weeks presidential poll.
According to a letter issued to students by the USIU Vice Chancellor Paul Zeleza the school will be closed from Tuesday October 24 and will resume Monday October 30.
"To give Kenyan members of the community, the opportunity to exercise their democratic right to participate in this new election, the Management Board has decided that the University will be closed from Tuesday, October 24 and reopen on Monday, October 30, at 8am," said the VC in his letter.
USIU joins the list of university that have decided to close school including Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Teachnology (JKUAT) and Maseno University.
As the country prepares for the fresh elections next week there is a lot of uncertainty as to how the electoral process will be conducted.
