Renowned Kiswahili books writer Ustadh Wallah Bin Wallah has described the new education curriculum as the best in the country, as it helps nurture children’s talents at their tender age.
Wallah, however, says the implementation of the curriculum may pose a challenge and called on the Ministry of Education to train more teachers on the new curriculum.
He cited the Laptop project for standard one pupils which he claimed, failed to succeed as expected due to the manner in which it was implemented.
On schools’ set books, Wallah who has authored a series of “Kiswahili Mufti” books, called for the establishment of a Task Force charged with the selection of quality books and authors necessary for the implementation of the new curriculum.
This he says will ensure transparency in the selection of textbooks for use in schools.
Wallah was speaking in Urimi village, West Uyoma Location of Rarieda Sub County in Siaya County during the burial Mama Matilda Ojwang Oyoo, the mother of Jack Oyoo Sylvester, a legendary football commentator.
