Utheri Wa Lari Society members have rejected calls for peace talks between them and the Maasai community in Suswa.
The talks have been called by Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery.
According to the Chairman of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce, Kiambu branch Thingori Warwathe, who is also a member of the group, talks can only be held after last week’s killers of three society members are arrested and prosecuted.
"To have any peace meeting, we need to know those who killed three of our members and injured several others last week", said Thingori in Kimende today while condoling with the families of the victims.
He added: "Secondly, we cannot hold talks on the fences. We need to be allowed to take our land and discuss the issues while we are already settled there."
Thinguri asked the CS to enforce the law and let the members get their land. At the same time, another group member James Ndonga Kaberere vowed that they would rather die than let their land go.
"We sacrificed a lot to buy that land and we are not about to give up on it," said Ndonga.
