School head teachers in Bobasi constituency, Kisii County have been urged to use CDF funds allocated to their schools appropriately to ensure projects are complete in time.
Area MP Innocent Obiri Momanyi on Monday warned school heads against misusing and misappropriating the CDF funds.
“Development funds allocated to various schools in the region should not be wasted. School heads are advised to use the money wisely to complete projects such as the construction of classrooms, renovation works among other projects which will provide a conducive learning environment to learners and teachers,” said Obiri.
The legislator said anyone found misappropriating CDF funds or diverting the money to his or her personal use will not be spared.
“Teachers who have a tendency of using development funds for their personal gains will be sacked, arrested and prosecuted in a court of law. No one is above the law to be allowed to engage in corruption,” he said.
He called on parents in the constituency to be vigilant and report any corruption cases involving the teachers to authorities for legal action to be taken.
“Parents should keep watch on school heads and report anyone engaging in corruption. Public funds must be managed well with high levels of honesty and integrity,” he added.
