Lack of proper mentorship and workable business ideas among youth and women groups are the two major problems facing many groups in Gatundu North.
Addressing Uwezo Fund beneficiaries at Kanyoni shopping centre in Githobokoni on Monday, Mary Wahugo, Gatundu North Uwezo Fund Coordinator said that groups which have not been able to reap the benefit of Uwezo Fund in the constituency are those whose business ideas have proved hard to implement.
"I have repeatedly said that Uwezo Fund has been a success in Gatundu North because we have seen various groups do small things that are earning them a living," said Wahugo.
She added, "However, we have some groups whose ideas on print became hard to implement because maybe they were a bit ambitious or they lacked proper mentorship."
However, Wahugo advised other potential beneficiaries to start small noting that guidance sessions will be offered to starters.
The coordinator said that implementation of the ideas entirely lies on group members.
